IPL and ResurFX solve different skin concerns. Vanessa assesses your skin first, then recommends the technology and treatment series that fits your goal.
Selected brown pigment can absorb IPL energy, darken temporarily and then fade as the skin clears the treated pigment.
IPL may reduce diffuse redness and small visible vessels in appropriate skin types. Rosacea is chronic, so treatment manages visible signs rather than curing the condition.
Sun-related color changes and redness can extend below the face. These thinner, frequently exposed areas require thoughtful settings and sun protection.
Brown spots on sun-exposed hands or body areas may be considered after the lesions are assessed and treatment suitability is confirmed.

IPL, or intense pulsed light, delivers selected wavelengths of light to visible pigment and vascular targets. It is commonly considered for sun spots, freckles, diffuse redness, rosacea-related appearance, and visible vessels. ResurFX is a non-ablative fractional laser that creates controlled treatment zones below the skin’s surface to support collagen remodeling and improve texture.
These technologies are complementary, but they are not interchangeable. Brown spots or redness may point toward IPL, while acne scars, fine lines, stretch marks, or textural irregularity may be better suited to ResurFX. Some patients benefit from a sequenced plan that addresses color first and texture separately.
Successful energy-based treatment begins with an accurate diagnosis of what is creating the discoloration or texture. Not every brown patch is the same, active tanning changes risk, and certain medications, medical conditions, or skin histories can affect candidacy. Dermalier reviews these factors before selecting a device or treatment setting.
Vanessa customizes wavelength or filter selection, energy, pulse characteristics, cooling, and treatment density to the skin and concern being treated. More aggressive settings are not automatically better. The safest effective plan respects skin tone, recent sun exposure, sensitivity, and the amount of recovery a patient can accommodate.
After IPL, targeted pigment may temporarily appear darker before flaking or fading, while redness can gradually look calmer. After ResurFX, the skin may feel warm and appear red or swollen before texture changes emerge over the following weeks as the healing response progresses.
A series is commonly recommended because skin concerns develop over time and respond incrementally. Maintenance, daily sunscreen, and a compatible home-care routine help protect the investment. Exact treatment count, recovery, and expected outcome are established only after an in-person skin assessment.
Selected brown spots, freckles, redness and visible vessels.
IPL is broad-spectrum light, not a resurfacing laser. Recent tanning and some pigment conditions can increase risk.
Texture, fine lines, selected acne scars and fractional collagen remodeling.
ResurFX treats microscopic zones below an intact surface. Redness and swelling are expected, and improvement develops gradually.
Daily pigment control, barrier support, acne care and protection between procedures.
Skincare and procedures can complement each other. A device cannot replace daily sun protection or treat every underlying condition.

Appointment guidance
These general guidelines support a better consultation. Your individual instructions may differ.
Candidacy
A consultation confirms candidacy. These points help you understand the kind of patient the treatment may suit.
Planning your investment
Price depends on the treatment area, whether one or several filters are needed and the number of sessions recommended. Face-only treatment and a plan that includes the neck, chest or hands are different appointments.
Vanessa will explain whether a single session is reasonable or whether the concern is more likely to benefit from a series. Dermalier does not promise that every pigment or redness concern will clear in one visit.

These are general answers. Vanessa will make them specific to you during your consultation.
IPL uses broad-spectrum light to target pigment and redness. ResurFX is a non-ablative fractional laser used primarily for texture, scars, fine lines, and collagen renewal.
The number depends on your skin, concern, and response. Many patients benefit from a series followed by maintenance, which will be discussed at consultation.
Redness, warmth, or mild swelling may occur. Your exact aftercare and expected recovery depend on the treatment chosen and its intensity.
IPL may reduce the appearance of diffuse redness and visible vessels associated with some rosacea presentations, but it does not cure rosacea. An assessment is needed to determine whether the redness is suitable for light-based treatment.
ResurFX may improve selected atrophic acne scars and uneven texture by supporting fractional collagen remodeling. Scar type, depth, skin tone, active acne, and prior treatments influence whether it is the appropriate option.
Depending on the concern and candidacy, areas such as the neck, chest, hands, and selected body areas may be treated. The device, settings, treatment area, and recovery plan are determined during consultation.
