PRP and PRF
Both begin with a blood draw and centrifugation. Preparation methods differ, and PRF forms a fibrin matrix that may support a slower release of growth factors.
Neither option creates new follicles. The goal is to support existing follicles when the clinical pattern is appropriate.
Who may benefit
Patients with some forms of early thinning may be candidates. Sudden hair loss, scarring, systemic symptoms, or unclear patterns may require additional workup or referral before treatment.
Timeline and expectations
Hair cycles are slow, so improvement is assessed over months rather than days. A series and maintenance schedule may be recommended, and response varies by diagnosis and patient.
