What this treatment can help with.

PRF is prepared from a small sample of your blood, then injected or paired with microneedling. Patients choose it for a gradual approach to skin quality, under-eyes, scars or hair.

Common concerns

  • Under-eye hollowness and crepey skin
  • Fine lines and early skin laxity
  • Dull tone and uneven texture
  • Acne scars
  • Hair thinning

Why patients choose it

  • Uses material derived from your own blood
  • Supports collagen and tissue renewal
  • Useful alone or with microneedling
  • Gradual, natural-looking change

Vanessa’s approach

Start by identifying what PRF can realistically change.

PRF is not a universal substitute for filler, laser or medical hair-loss evaluation. Vanessa first identifies whether the concern is thin tissue, shadow, pigment, scar texture, active inflammation or follicle miniaturization.

The way PRF is prepared and used depends on the treatment goal. Because the change is gradual, Dermalier sets a photography and follow-up timeline before the first session.

Treatment planning

Where this treatment may help.

The right area depends on the cause of the concern, your anatomy and whether this treatment is the safest useful tool.

01

Under-eyes

Injected PRF may be considered for selected crepey texture, fine lines or mild hollowing. Pigment, visible vessels and fluid-related bags often need a different plan.

02

Skin quality

PRF can be used as part of a regenerative plan for fine lines and overall skin quality when gradual change is acceptable.

03

Acne scars and texture

Microneedling mechanically stimulates remodeling. Scar depth and tethering determine whether microneedling, laser or a combination is more appropriate.

04

Hair thinning

Scalp injections may support selected early thinning patterns. Sudden shedding, scarring or unclear hair loss needs diagnosis or referral before a procedure series.

01

What platelet-rich fibrin is

Platelet-rich fibrin, or PRF, is prepared by drawing a small amount of the patient’s blood and spinning it under controlled conditions. The process separates a platelet- and fibrin-rich layer that can be placed into targeted tissue or used alongside microneedling. Because the material comes from your own blood, PRF is different from synthetic dermal filler.

The fibrin matrix is valued as a scaffold that retains platelets and signaling proteins. Rather than creating the immediate shape or projection associated with hyaluronic acid filler, PRF is selected when the goal is gradual support for skin quality and tissue renewal.

02

PRF for under-eyes, skin quality, and acne scars

Thin or crepey under-eye skin, fine lines, dullness and selected textural concerns may be treated with injected PRF or PRF combined with microneedling. Under-eye darkness has many possible causes, including shadowing, pigment, visible vessels and volume loss. Treatment begins by identifying which factor PRF could realistically improve.

For acne scars and broader texture concerns, microneedling creates controlled microchannels while PRF is applied as part of the treatment plan. Scar type and depth matter; deeper or tethered scars may need another approach or a combination strategy.

03

PRF hair restoration in Orlando

PRF can be injected into targeted areas of the scalp to support an environment for healthier-looking hair. It is most often discussed for early thinning or reduced density rather than areas where follicles are no longer viable. Hair shedding has many medical, hormonal, nutritional, genetic, and inflammatory causes, so an appropriate evaluation comes before treatment.

Hair growth follows a slow biological cycle. Visible change is measured over months, not days, and a series with maintenance may be recommended. Dermalier documents the starting pattern and helps set realistic expectations based on the suspected cause and stage of thinning.

Choose the right tool

Injected PRF, microneedling or filler?

Similar-sounding treatments can solve different problems. This is how Vanessa separates them during consultation.

OptionBest suited toWhat to know
Injected PRF

Selected under-eye, fine-line or tissue-quality concerns where gradual autologous support fits the goal.

PRF does not create the same immediate, predictable volume as hyaluronic acid filler.

PRF with microneedling

Broader texture and selected acne-scar concerns.

Microneedling devices are not FDA-cleared to deliver PRP or blood products into skin. Dermalier discusses this off-label combination and its limits during consent.

Hyaluronic acid filler

Selected structural hollowing that needs controlled, immediate support.

Under-eye filler is not suitable for every anatomy and carries filler-specific vascular and swelling risks.

What to expect

Here is how it works.

01

Plan

We assess the treatment area and decide whether injection, microneedling, or a combination fits your goal.

02

Prepare

A small blood sample is drawn and processed to isolate platelet-rich fibrin.

03

Regenerate

PRF is applied to the target area; improvement builds gradually over the following weeks.

The real timeline

What happens after the appointment.

Early swelling or redness is not the result. Here is when the treatment becomes meaningful to evaluate.

  1. Treatment day

    Blood draw and preparation

A small blood sample is processed, then the prepared PRF is used according to the treatment plan.

  2. First few days

    Swelling or redness

Injected areas may swell or bruise. Microneedled skin can look red and feel tight or sensitive.

  3. Following weeks

    Gradual tissue response

PRF is not judged by the immediate post-procedure appearance. Change develops over time.

  4. Across a series

    Progress is measured

Skin and hair goals are photographed consistently because improvement can be subtle and biological cycles are slow.

Appointment guidance

How to prepare and care for your result.

These general guidelines support a better consultation. Your individual instructions may differ.

Preparing for consultation

  • Share your health history, medications, supplements, blood or clotting conditions, scalp or skin diagnoses, and the cause and duration of the concern.
  • Follow hydration, food, and medication instructions provided for your individual appointment.
  • For hair concerns, bring relevant laboratory results or prior evaluations when available so the treatment plan does not overlook an underlying cause.

Aftercare and follow-up

  • Temporary redness, swelling, tenderness, bruising, or pinpoint bleeding can occur depending on whether PRF is injected or paired with microneedling.
  • Follow the specific skin, scalp, cleansing, exercise, and sun-exposure instructions provided for your procedure.
  • Evaluate change on the recommended timeline; regenerative and hair-related outcomes develop gradually and may require standardized photographs.

Candidacy

Who may be a good fit?

A consultation confirms candidacy. These points help you understand the kind of patient the treatment may suit.

It may fit if

  • You prefer a treatment prepared from your own blood.
  • Your concern is one PRF may realistically support.
  • You understand that a series and maintenance may be recommended.
  • You can wait for gradual change rather than immediate contour.

Treatment may need to wait

  • A blood, platelet or clotting disorder that changes treatment safety
  • Active infection or inflammation in the treatment area
  • Medication or a medical condition that affects healing or platelet function
  • Unexplained hair loss that needs diagnostic evaluation before treatment

Planning your investment

What determines PRF treatment cost?

Cost depends on whether PRF is injected, paired with microneedling or used for the scalp, as well as the number of sessions recommended. Under-eye treatment and a full scalp session require different time and planning.

The consultation defines the goal and gives you the full series recommendation before you begin, including when meaningful reassessment should occur.

PRF Regeneration FAQs

Questions, answered.

These are general answers. Vanessa will make them specific to you during your consultation.

What is the difference between PRF and PRP?

Both are prepared from your blood. PRF forms a fibrin matrix and is often chosen for its slower release of growth factors. Your consultation determines which approach is appropriate.

When will I see results?

Skin changes often develop over several weeks. Hair restoration takes longer and varies by patient. A series may be recommended.

Is PRF the same as filler?

No. PRF is regenerative and does not behave like hyaluronic acid filler. It produces a more gradual change rather than immediate structural volume.

Can PRF help under-eye darkness?

It may help selected patients when thin skin or tissue quality contributes to the concern. Pigment, vascular color, allergies, anatomy, and shadowing can also create dark circles, so the cause must be assessed before recommending treatment.

How many PRF sessions are needed?

There is no universal series. The number and spacing depend on the treatment area, starting concern, health factors, and response. Skin and hair plans are evaluated on different timelines.

Who may not be a candidate for PRF?

Candidacy can be affected by pregnancy, active infection, certain blood or platelet disorders, anticoagulant use, uncontrolled medical conditions, or unrealistic expectations. A medical review is required before treatment.
